From 2018 to 2021, Howell enjoyed one of the most decorated collegiate careers in the country while anchoring Florida State’s midfield. As a freshman in 2018, she played in 26 matches and ranked third on the team in minutes (2,152) while helping the Seminoles capture the national championship. She started all 23 matches she played in 2019, earning All-ACC First Team honors and a spot on the MAC Hermann Trophy watch list. In 2020, she started every match of the season, guiding FSU to another national championship appearance while winning her first MAC Hermann Trophy and earning All-ACC First Team and ACC Midfielder of the Year honors. She capped her collegiate career in 2021 by captaining Florida State to its second national title in four seasons, winning the Honda Sport Award and a second MAC Hermann Trophy, and being named a United Soccer Coaches First Team All-American, All-ACC First Team selection and ACC Midfielder of the Year.
