2024 (Gotham FC): Led the team with a career-high passing accuracy of 90.3% and minutes (2,158). One of two players to start 25 games, setting new career-highs in appearances and starts. 2023 (OL Reign): Started in 19 matches, recorded 1,677 minutes and finished with an 80% successful pass rate, leading the team to the 2023 NWSL final, playing every minute of every playoff match. 2022 (Washington Spirit): Appeared in 10 games (nine starts) before suffering an injury while on international duty and being placed on the season- ending injury list. 2021 (Washington Spirit): Started 14 of 15 games played for 1,263 minutes and started in all three playoff matches, helping the Spirit win the NWSL championship. 2019 (Portland Thorns): Named NWSL Second XI...Appeared in 13 games, making 12 starts and tallying two goals. 2018 (Portland Thorns): Started in all 20 games during the regular season with Portland, earning an NWSL Best XI selection. Logged 3,420 consecutive minutes, spanning Aug. 27, 2016-May 19, 2018 across 38 games. 2017 (Portland Thorns): One of four players to start all 24 matches, playing every minute (2,160) during the regular season and recording three goals and one assist. Registered the game-winning assist in the NWSL championship match against the North Carolina Courage and scored her second career NWSL playoff goal. 2016 (Portland Thorns): Selected first overall in the 2016 NWSL Draft. Started and played 90 minutes in all 15 appearances, scoring her first professional goal in the semifinal round of the NWSL playoffs against the Western New York Flash.
COLLEGE
2012-15: Started in 89 games of 97 appearances for Virginia, reaching two College Cups. Recorded 11 goals and nine assists. As a senior in 2015, earned espnW National Player of the Year and was selected to the First-Team NSCAA All-American, First-Team NSCAA All- Southeast Region and ACC Defensive Player of the Year. Selected as the College Cup Most Outstanding Defensive Player as a junior in 2014. As a sophomore in 2013, set a UVA single-season record with 2,341 minutes played. Earned three all-conference honors in her career.
INTERNATIONAL
2025: Named to the 23-player roster for the SheBelieves Cup. 2024: Selected to the 18-player roster for the 2024 Olympics; appeared as a substitute in the gold medal game, helping the U.S. keep a clean sheet and claim the gold medal. Made her 100th cap for the USWNT on Oct. 24 against Iceland. 2023: Made two appearances in the FIFA Women’s World Cup, starting once.2022: Started two of three matches in helping her team win the Concacaf W Championship. 2021: Named to the 18-player roster for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, earning an Olympic bronze medal 2019: Was named to the 23-player roster for the 2019 FIFA World Cup, helping the team win its second consecutive World Cup. 2015: On Oct. 16, 2015, Sonnett received her first call-up to the United States Women’s National Team after spending five years with the U-18 and the U-23 teams between 2011-15.
