2025: NWSL Best XI First Team

PROFESSIONAL

2025 (Gotham FC): Finished the regular season with 13 goals, second only to Temwa Chawinga, and scored the opening goal of the match six times. Recorded 11 first-half goals, the second-most in a single season in league history and one shy of Sam Kerr’s 2019 record. Scored in seven of Gotham’s nine regular-season wins and became just the second player in club history to reach double-digit goals in a season, joining Kerr (17 in 2017). Became the fastest player in club history to reach 10 goals in a single season (13 matches), surpassing Kerr’s mark of 14, and recorded four braces to tie the league’s single-season record. Scored seven goals in a four-match span, matching the NWSL record for that window, and became the third player since 2013 to score seven or more goals in the first seven matches of a season. Won her second title with Gotham FC, starting both championship matches, shares the club record for career playoff starts (7) with Midge Purce and scored the game-winning goal to clinch the inaugural Concacaf W Champions Cup title.

2024 (Gotham FC): Led Gotham FC in regular-season goals with nine — all scored in the second half. Recorded two braces, tying Monica Ocampo (2013), Katie Johnson (2018) and Carli Lloyd (2019) for the club record; those brought her career total to three, setting a new club record. Added four assists, tied with Ella Stevens for second-most on the team.

2023 (Gotham FC/Real Madrid): After joining Gotham FC, started three matches and appeared in five, helping the club win the 2023 NWSL Championship and scoring the title-winning goal.

2022 (Real Madrid): Concluded her three seasons at Real Madrid as the club’s all-time leading scorer with 39 goals in 77 appearances.

2019–21 (Levante): Scored 29 goals during the 2020–21 campaign, finishing second in Liga F.

2013–19 (Atlético Madrid): Tallied 107 goals in 220 appearances and helped Atleti win three Liga F titles and a Copa de la Reina.

2012–13 (Sporting Huelva): Scored 15 goals in 27 matches.

2011–12 (Atlético Málaga): Scored 12 goals in her lone season with the club.

2009–11 (Levante): Scored 12 goals in 47 appearances during her first stint with Levante.

INTERNATIONAL

González has been an influential presence for Spain throughout her international career, scoring 13 goals in eight appearances in 2021, including a five-goal performance against Azerbaijan. She added another major tournament moment in 2022, scoring against England in the UEFA Women’s Euro quarterfinals. In 2023, she captained Spain in two World Cup matches, scored in the group-stage win over Costa Rica and ultimately lifted the trophy as a World Cup champion. She continued her strong form in 2024 with a two-goal performance against Belgium in Euro 2025 qualifying. In 2025, she helped Spain reach the semifinals of the UEFA Women’s Nations League and was named to Spain’s UEFA Women’s Euro squad, advancing all the way to the final before falling to England on penalties.
