Gotham FC Announces $100 Million Capital Raise to Accelerate Vision of Becoming a Global Leader in Women’s Soccer

Investment supports the club’s long-term ambitions on and off the field ahead of its 2028 move to Etihad Park

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (Nov. 6, 2026) – Gotham FC on Friday announced a $100 million capital raise to accelerate its growth through continued investment in players, infrastructure and fan experiences, building on its success on and off the field to set a new standard for excellence in women's sports.

Gotham FC Governor Carolyn Tisch Blodgett is the club’s lead owner, who serves as an NWSL board member and is chair of the NWSL Executive Committee. The capital raise was led by the Moelis family, and includes seven new minority investors bringing experience across banking and finance, real estate development and public service, including David R. Giroux and Anne Welsh McNulty. Tisch Blodgett’s Next 3 Ventures and the Tisch family made a substantial investment in the round, with additional meaningful support from Jennifer Mackesy, another significant existing investor. The raise marks the first time the club has welcomed new minority investors under Tisch Blodgett’s ownership.

The investment will support Gotham FC’s long-term growth, with a focus on sustaining a championship-caliber team, connecting with more fans across the New York region and strengthening the club’s operations and infrastructure for the future. Reflecting these priorities, over the past six months, Gotham FC announced plans to build its first dedicated training facility in New Jersey; relocate matchdays to the new world-class Etihad Park in Queens in 2028; and launch its youth player development initiative. The club also appointed the first presidents of business and soccer operations in club history.

“When we became owners of Gotham FC three years ago, we saw an opportunity to build something truly special – not just a successful soccer club, but a franchise that could help redefine what's possible in women's sports,” Tisch Blodgett said. “We've made extraordinary progress in a short period of time, but in many ways, we're just getting started. We want to build a club that competes with the best in the world, attracts top talent, and creates a passionate fan base. We're incredibly excited to welcome this exceptional group of investors who share our vision and bring valuable expertise, relationships, and perspectives that will help us take Gotham to the next level. Together, we're investing in the people, infrastructure, and experiences needed to build something that will thrive for generations to come.”

The capital raise follows a period of extraordinary growth for Gotham FC, demonstrating both the club's competitive success and the expanding commercial opportunity in women's soccer.

Over the past three seasons, Gotham has established itself among the most successful clubs in women's soccer, winning five major trophies, including two NWSL Championships, a continental championship and its first-ever NWSL Shield in 2026. The club is also currently the only NWSL team qualified for the inaugural FIFA Women's Club World Cup in 2028.

That success has been accompanied by growing fan and commercial momentum. Average home attendance has increased 73% since 2023, including a New York City women's sports attendance record of 42,175 at The Queens Classic at Citi Field over the summer. Nine of the club's 10 most-attended matches have come in the past three seasons, and the club has more than quadrupled its partnerships growth since 2024.

Gotham FC’s move to New York City FC’s Etihad Park will make it the first women’s professional team to call New York City home. It’s the first soccer-specific stadium in the city’s history.

The club’s permanent training base in Whippany, New Jersey, will anchor its soccer operations and its commitment to providing an elite environment for its players and staff. The Pro Player Pathway, a comprehensive development ecosystem designed to create a clear and structured route from elite youth soccer to the professional game, will also operate out of the new facility.
